Although visually my world appears to be complete disorganization, my mind is not cluttered. I know that out of this disorder will come order. I invite the Divine Presence into my life and my surroundings and all of my unpacking activities, and am at peace. God and I are working on this unpacking project together today. I started with visualization of the completely ordered end. And I visualized this completely ordered end with fewer possessions than we started with.
One thing has has been made clear to me - We've got too much stuff. In this smaller house is still a collection of things gathered over a lifetime. I am reminded of an article by Carol A. Karpeck, Free to Live With Spirit. In the article she talks about making room for Spirit and I have taken her words to heart:
"'To be free, we must be willing to give up the good for the greater! We need to bless and release people, things, beliefs, actions, circumstances and relationships from our lives that no longer reflect our current truth. When we release willlingly, time and time again, we evolve spiritually, we constantly make room for Spirit, for greater good. And we feel free to fully enjoy the good - no longer collecting and clinging.
What I learned in my major releasing was that my home and its possessions represented my connection with people and events from my past which had left my life. I had loved them, treasured them, and missed them. And each article was a link to what had been.
A greater awareness came to me during this transformation: There had always been special people and things in my life; there always would be special people and things in my life! I no longer had to hold on to all the mementos. I possessed the memories!
Each act of release that we chose to make opens our hearts, minds, and lives to greater good than we have yet known. That is "living free - with Spirit!"
She recommends an experiment I am having fun following:
1. Select one room in your home that contains items you have collected.
2. Make three spearate lists, labeled:
"Could easily part with."
"Requires some thought."
"No way could I give this up."
3. write down each article in that room on one of the three lists.
4. Notice which list is longest and the types of items on each list. This helps revel the levels of attachment.
Two last thoughts:
"Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:21.
There is amazing power in letting go. Today I am letting go and making room for Spirit. All is in Divine Order.
(I BEHOLD THE DIVINE PRESENCE AS YOU)
